Fibromyalgia affects between 3 and 6 million Americans and approximately 90% of those affected are female. It causes widespread muscle pain, fatigue, disrupted sleep, and a host of other unpleasant symptoms that wreak havoc on the lives of those it affects. It is a chronic condition and there is no known cure. I know it well...... it has been my constant companion for the past thirteen years.
Saturday, May 12th is National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day and thanks to Second Life Resident Ariana Petrova, the day is being marked with events spread over three days, comprising the first Fibromyalgia Awareness Day Fair in SL.
